About Dori

‍Dori did not graduate from an Ivy League school.

After not graduating, he did not join NASA’s elite astronaut program.

He did not become the first man to complete a spacewalk while simultaneously closing a Series B.

He did not receive the Fields Medal for his groundbreaking work on Excel macros.

He did not pioneer a new valuation methodology, unless you count “Are we all just guessing?” as methodology.

And he definitely did not win a Nobel Prize for yelling “You f@cking muppets!” at a board meeting in 2021 (though it was well deserved).

What Dori did do:

He built the largest home pet care company in the US in his first venture, scaling it past $25m ARR with more than 250 employees and raising over $100m before leading its merger with BetterVet.
Then he exited. He had already seen the early warning lights starting to flash. After that, let’s just say he had front-row seats to a slow-motion train wreck that confirmed his timing was excellent, as usual..

He now advises and leads strategic finance for high-growth startups as founder of The Night Ventures and as a mentor at Cornell Tech.

He has helped more than 15 companies sharpen their financial strategy, pressure-test their business models, and raise over $200m.

His work spans healthcare, impact investing, applied AI, and consumer services, including BlueMark, Natrion, GuardianVets, Swift Vets, YourPath, JBecca’s acquisition by Stirista, and many more.

Earlier in his career he executed M&A, IPOs, and valuation work at Citi, Morgan Stanley, and Ion Pacific, building the analytical foundation that drives his approach today.

He works by a simple rule of execution: “If something can happen at 50% probability in seven days and cost $100, I’ll do it at 85% probability, in four days, at $30.”
